The Orb

The Orb is a three-part collection exploring hidden emotions and the human condition.
Sculpted using a mixture of CGI and Virtual Reality and set to thought-provoking music these pieces attempt to describe an inner journey that may be all too familiar for some.

The burden was heavy.
She carried her pain, nestled between her shoulders.
The weight, oppressive.
Yet all people saw was the outside.
No sharp edges,
A sphere.
An orb.
The grief contained inside.

Orb Part 2 - Inspired the following Poetry by Susan L Greig.

Deep inside she found the strength.
To stand, to push herself.
Rising above the pain.
She stood resolute,
Facing what came.
Sorrow like Gossamer
Blinding her, suffocating.
Flowing over her limbs
A silken tomb.
She stretched up, letting it consume her.
No longer fighting.
No longer struggling.
An almost imperceptible shift.
Within the billowed silk, gauze wings arose.
Within the beauty of surrender, a becoming of who she was meant to be.
Learning to fly.
Transcendent, upwards.

When it ran itself out,
This process of life.
The heaviness of sorrow, of grief.
The uncertainty of change.
All had moved thru her.
Body and mind.
She then stood grounded,
She then stood complete.
Arms raised above her head, in triumph.
Remnants of what was left.
The orb.
Patterns of the past,
Fear and pain.
No longer having their hold.
She released it all.
Sending it heavenward.
Letting it go.
